MARTIN HANNIGAN

MARTIN (DOC) HANNIGAN Martin (Doc) Hannigan, 78, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on August 15, 2025. Martin was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 29, 1947. He was a true patriota lover and protector of his country. He served as a dedicated veteran of the United States Army in both the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War. His military career took him around the world to Vietnam, Okinawa, and Germany, where he and Sen lived for 23 years and raised their family. Following his military retirement, he continued his public service as a civil servant, working in logistics for the Department of the Army. He was known as Doc Hannigan due to his dedication to ensuring soldiers had the supplies they needed and more. Martin was a devoted fan of all Pittsburgh sports. His greatest passion besides his family was cheering for the Steelers, a vocal and fervent love he proudly passed on to his sons. He also enjoyed taking trips with family members to see the Steelers play in other cities. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine Hannigan; his beloved wife, Sen Thi Hannigan; and his son, Daniel Patrick Hannigan. He is survived by his sons, Dung Phan Hannigan (wife Hang) and David Hannigan (husband Daniel Ceresia); his granddaughter, Sophia Hannigan; and his brother, Walt (wife Dinelle) Hannigan of Pittsburgh, PA. A private celebration of life will be held in his honor on Sunday, September 7, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
