FORTY FORT — Lawrence G. Meier, 64, of Forty Fort, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at his home.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Harold and Betty (Derr) Meier.
Larry was a graduate of Hazleton High School, class of 1970. He received an associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology from Pennsylvania State University, Hazleton, in 1972, an associate's degree in architectural engineering technology from Luzerne County Community College in 1974, a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural Center in 1980.
Larry became a registered professional architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, NCARB certified in 1985. He was the founder and managing partner of Lawrence Meier and Associates Inc. Architects, established in 1991.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Justin E. Meier, in 2012.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, the former Patricia Height; brother, Harold Meier and wife, Joyce, of Conyngham, brother, Richard Meier, of Hazleton; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Joan Mattern and husband, Dan, of Dallas, Ellen Boyle and husband, Wilson, of North Carolina, Maureen Jones and husband, Ron, of Nanticoke; brother-in-law, Christopher Rosser, of Kingston.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the Harold C. Snowdon Home for Funerals Inc., 420 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Interment in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home, or gratefully accepted by family during the visitation.

Larry.... more than a boss, but my mentor and my friend. Always had more confidence in me than I did in myself. I love you like a big brother. I'll do everything I can to keep you designs and continue the "LMA way" wherever the future leads me. I'll do everything I can to help take care of Pat.... I miss you Lar. The office is too quiet without you. Always know how much you were loved by everyone.
