Robert Wetmore Obituary

Robert Gale Wetmore of Rock Hall, MD passed away on May 31, 2025. He was 78.

Born in Chestertown, MD December 10, 1946, to the late Robert Badger and Nettie Irene Wetmore. He attended school in Fairlee and then started work with David A. Bramble Construction on April 1, 1965. Robert spent his entire 44-year career as a paving foreman before his retirement on December 18, 2007. He was known for being able to run his entire crew with the point of his finger - all his crew members knew exactly what he needed done with just a grunt and a point of the finger. He won numerous paving awards from the State of Maryland.

Robert enjoyed collecting and restoring cars, including his 1965 GTO, 1972 Corvette, and 1971 Chevrolet truck, all of which he took to local car shows and won many awards for. He loved riding his Gator around his farmette, feeding the deer. He was a member of the Chestertown Elks Lodge #2474.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John William "Bill" Wetmore, Sr., and his companion, Elva Webb.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelley Reuwer (Mark) and his nephew, John William "Billy" Wetmore, Jr.

Services will be held privately.
