Joseph Dudek Obituary

Mr. Joseph Stanley Dudek, 65, of West Chesterfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Joe was born on October 14, 1959, in Brattleboro, VT. He was the youngest of three children born to John Dudek and Arlene (Arsenault) Dudek. He attended Chesterfield School and then Keene High School, graduating in 1977. He spent most of his working years in the sales industry, where so many of his customers became close friends. Most recently, he was employed as a Territory Sales Representative for Blake Equipment out of Greenfield, MA. Joe was a passionate outdoor enthusiast who spent many days from sunrise to sunset completing various outdoor projects. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend nights by the fire at his hunting lodge. He also spent many years playing in the Greater Keene Men's Softball Association as well as coaching in the Greater Keene Women's Softball Association and a variety of his kids' youth sports teams. He was a fierce competitor and coach on the field and a dedicated teammate and leader off the field. Through his rough and tough exterior, he did have a soft spot for one person: his wife, Susan Dudek. They were married for 38 years and spent many of those on the go, traveling for sporting events and vacations. He especially enjoyed traveling and cruising with family and friends. Joe also found what some who knew him might call unlikely companionship in his two tabby cats, Rey and Wookie. Joe is also survived by his brother, John Dudek and his wife Felicia Dudek, of West Chesterfield as well as his three children: Jason Dudek and his partner Lisa Bowman, of Keene, Jayme Miller and her husband Jay Miller, of Keene and Megan Dudek and her partner Michael Richardson, of Springfield, VT. He is also survived by many dear to him in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and close friends who were more like family. He was predeceased by his mother, father, mother-in-law Catherine Fifield, and sister Mary (Dudek) Cobb. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 8th, at Cheshire Family Funeral Home in Keene, followed by a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
