Larry Huhn Obituary
He was born Feb. 9, 1943, to Harry Calvin Huhn Jr. and Melba (Teach) Huhn. Larry married Garnet Lintner June 9, 1978, in Hebron.
Larry attended Rensselaer Schools, graduating with the class of 1961. He received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana State University June 4, 1967, and a Master's Degree August 23, 1972. He taught industrial arts and coached basketball at North Newton, Hobart, and Jacksonville, Fla. He worked at the Indiana Employment Office until closing in 1981. He then built and rented apartments until he retired in 2007.
Larry was affiliated as past president of Eagles lodge, a 57-year member of the Masonic Lodge #125, played in the Purdue Band two years, member of Oakwood Gun Club, Trinity United Methodist Church, and their men's bible study. He thoroughly enjoyed stock trading and was a passionate investor.
Larry is survived by his wife, Garnet; two children, Trisha (Brian) Drain, DeMotte, Mathew (Holliston) Huhn, Brownsburg; five grandchildren, Hunter, Easton, and Gage Drain and Veronica and Calvin Huhn; sister, Linda (Richard) Comingore, Rensselaer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Melba Huhn; and grandparents, Harry and Helen Huhn and McKinley and Helen Teach.
Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer, 107 East Angelica Street, with 10 a.m. visitation and11 a.m. Masonic rite and memorial services.
Private graveside services to follow.
In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts may be made to the family for an educational fund.
