J. Glasgow Obituary

CONWAY | J. James Glasgow Jr., age 64, of Antioch Road, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at Conway Medical Center.

Mr. Glasgow was born June 12, 1941 in Conway, S.C., a son of the late Jesse James Glasgow Sr. and Lila Ann Calhoun Glasgow. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. He served as Captain in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Glasgow was in textile management.

Surviving are his wife, Gaye C. Glasgow of Conway; one son, Jesse J. Glasgow III of Conway; one daughter, Ruth Anne Seavey and her husband, David, of Gainsville, Ga.; two brothers, Jesse Conrad Glasgow of Spartanburg, and Charles C. Glasgow of Conway; four grandchildren, Jess Glasgow, Brent Glasgow, Maggie Seavey, and David Seavey.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with the Rev. James Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery.

I learned,this morning, of the passing of James. I was a classmate at Clemson and rode with him from Conway to Clemson many times. He was a person to be greatly admired then and I am sure this remained so through the years
