Mrs. Buehler, Chuck, and Pattie,
My brother told me of Joe's passing. I am truly sorry for your loss. He is missed. I remember helping him put up the umbrellas and all of those chairs. I have great childhood memroies of the beach.
Chuck remember fishing in the lake beside the house? Skipping stones? Now that was fun!
Wishing the best for your family in this time of need. Many prayers sent your way.
God bless you, Dottie

Ms. B and family, I worked for Joe as a life guard for several years, lastly in front of the old Driftwood Hotel in 1948. Me along with Buck Holcombe, Bud Hunt( in front of the Chesterfield), both from Greenville, SC, and Hendrix Wells(in front of Villa Ambrose) had memoriable times, tales to tell and laughter for many, many years. We all remain friends to this day, thanks to you, and have moved back to the S.C beach. Can't get the sand out of the shoes! Thanks for the good times; your former lifeguards, Dick, Bud, Buck, and Hendrick.

A great man! A great friend! Set sail Joe! Bicycle those golden streets to the beaches of heaven. Save a stand for those of us who will join you when we're finished "spinning our wheels" down here. You're in our hearts, as you have been for many years!

Dear Mrs. B, Chuck and Patty,
I am so sorry to hear about Joe. I know how much he mean't to each of you. I think about all of the wonderful lessons that I learned from him on the beach all of those years and they bring back some wonderful memories. It is amazing when you think of all of the young men that he influenced over the years on the beach. We have each taken a little bit of Joe with us in our lives, and he will be greatly missed by all of his former lifeguards. God bless you.

Dear Mrs Bueheler,patti & Chuck,
I worked for Joe as a life guard for numerous years. My mom & dad had the Fleetwood Apts if that will help you remember. Such a great person Joe was, he did so much to help so many young men while going to college. I will always have fond memories of working for Joe and his efforts to keep his young men on a straight path.
May God bless each of you during your time of loss. Your family will always hold a special place in my heart.
