Books, music, birds, art, food, friendship--lovely memories of time spent in Nell's dining and living room talking together. Sharing reading lists. Sharing views about God, life, family and the world around us. Enjoying the gorgeous sweaters and hats made by her hand. Music always playing softly in the background. Cheering her on as she navigated her way through computers and other technological developments. Swapping books and returning them with comments to each other.

What an incredibly beautiful woman! And this was one funeral at which I did not feel sad. How wonderful! How refreshing! How life-affirming to know that this woman, this lovely lady, knew her Savior and Lord, and that she lived her life with such grace and love that that fact simply could not be denied. We could see it. And it blessed all of us who knew her.

Thank you, Nell! Thank you for sharing your life here on Earth with us! Thank you for making it so special and sweet to know you and be with you. I will carry your twinkling smile with me forever in this life.

As we said at the funeral--you are the perfect combination of delicate beauty and strength. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Amen. Amen.

We have missed Nell at church since her move to Charleston. She always had that 'Glow" which is hard to describe.
She was a blessing to all that had the good fortune to know her.
Warm and loving thoughts to the family

The words that gave Nell and me so much pleasure, fail me now. I will always treasure the friendship. Love to everyone.

Your mom was like a mother to me while I lived next door to her in Settlers Point. She was a real southern lady and a good listener to everybody. I will miss her so much. Much Love & God Bless - Judy (Colgate) Burroughs
