Wilkesboro, North Carolina - Mr. Wilton Collins Jones, Sr., age 89 of Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Atrium Health-Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church in the Pores Knob Community with Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Jones was born February 12, 1933 in Craven County to Asa Jackson Jones and Julia Hester Collins Jones. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife; Deborah Foutche Jones of the home, four daughters; Karen Jones Bowling of Angier, Sharon Jones Ray and husband Joe of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Barry Waddle and husband Mike of Bagdad, KY, Emily Harder and husband James of Roslindale, MA, two sons; WC Jones "Corky" of Fayetteville, Rick Ratliff and wife Jane of Pisgah Forest, four grandchildren; Melissa Bridges, Ginifer Wilkins, Seth Jones and Sunny Harder and five great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
