Richard Jeffrey Heisler, 60, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
Jeff was born July 23, 1965, in Aurora, IL to Robert and Marcia (Thompson) Heisler Jr. He married Cheryl Gerber on December 20, 1991 at St. Joseph Church in Downers Grove. He worked for over 20 years as a chemical operator. In his free time, he enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions, where he added many items to his various collections, including cars, model trains, and tools. He could regularly be found tinkering on his many projects in the garage. He was a Chicago Bears fan and an animal lover. He and Cheryl raised many generations of the best doggies.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his daughter Vicky (Luis) Malusin; and his brothers, Robert "Jim" Heisler and Charles (Jennifer) Heisler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marcia.
Memorials in Jeff's honor may be directed to the Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
