A. Nappi Obituary
Thomas Nappi, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025 at VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Nancy (Higgins) Nappi.
Tommy was born in Waterbury on January 6, 1948, son of the late Anthony and Adrienne (DiNatali) Nappi. He worked for A J Waste Systems LLC in Cheshire for many years until his retirement. He was a renowned musician/ saxophone player with the UpBeats, Grapes of Wrath and the Mnemonics. He attended the University of Hartford and the Julius Hartt School of Music. He performed for renowned Lester Lannon of New York City and with Joey Dee and the Starlighers at the Peppermint Lounge.
Besides his wife Nancy of Waterbury, Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Thomas M. Nappi and his wife JoAnne of New York, and Michael Nappi of New York. He also leaves his brother, Charles Nappi of Wolcott, his sister, Laurie Lopp of Alabama, a stepdaughter, Cynthia Harnish of Watertown, a stepson, Mark Elliott of Waterbury, his grandchildren, Sabrina and her husband, Dylan, Jordan, Zachery, Jagger, Alexa, Lacey, three great-grandchildren, Jack, Johnathan, Giavanna, and a nephew and a niece, Brandon Nappi and MacKenzie Lopp and his beloved dog Sadie. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jillian.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the staff at St. Mary's Hospital, VITAS and the Cheshire House for their care and compassion shown to Tommy during his illness.
Arrangements: Calling hours for Thomas will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. A funeral service will take place at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
