Aaron Keith Pitman, age 64 of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Sunday morning, July 6, 2025.
Known to many as Keith, he was born on March 2, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of James Ellis and Rebecca Joyce (Easter) Pitman. Keith was the middle of three children. He is survived by his older brother Jim Pitman of Indianapolis and his younger sister Connie Eisenback of Indianapolis.
Keith married Sarah Rieu on April 20, 1980 in Indianapolis. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years: Sarah Pitman of Terre Haute.
Keith is also survived by his son: Aaron (wife Tiffany) Pitman of Westfield Indiana and their daughter: Payton Pitman.
His daughter Ashley (husband Chris) Ryan of Terre Haute and their three children Olivia, Archie and Atlas.
Nieces, nephews, other family members and relatives also survive.
Keith grew up in Indianapolis on the South side. He attended Emmerich Manual High School, graduating in the the class of 1979.
Right after high school, Keith began working for Citizens Energy group, working as a gas service specialist. He worked at Citizens Energy for his entire professional career for 38 years, retiring in 2016.
Outside of work, he loved sports, most especially being a huge Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, as well as IU Basketball.
He loved traveling, going to the beach and enjoyed going to Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Over the years, Keith was very involved in his children’ activities including Ashley’s color guard and competitive dance, and Aaron’s sports and band.
Mostly importantly Keith loved being a father and grandfather; he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis.
His funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Keith’s nephew Donny Cannon will officiate the service.
Cremation Rites will be accorded after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association by clicking here.
