Aaron Jason Mohler, 51, Logansport, left this earthly life far too soon Thursday, April 13. After being life-lined to I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis last week, following an unstoppable brain bleed, Aaron was constantly surrounded by the love and beautiful voices of his family as he journeyed on to Heaven.
Born Aug. 13, 1971, in Logansport, he was the son of Diana (Johnston) Mohler Geisler, who survives, and the late William E. Mohler, who preceded in death in 2001. A 1990 graduate of Logansport High School, Aaron excelled in swimming. He went on to study neuroscience and behavioral biology at Indiana University in Bloomington, graduating in 1996.
For many years, he worked alongside his dad, Richard "Dick Geisler," in the family carpet installation business. Currently, he was employed with Graybeal's Carpet Plus as a carpet and flooring installation expert.
Aaron was blessed to be a part of a large family who enjoyed music and many holiday traditions, as well as their annual gathering at the Turkey Run State Park and their cottage on Nyona Lake. Aaron was a lover of nature and wildlife. He especially loved his Rottweiler, Athena.
With a heart as big as that beautiful smile of his, Aaron leaves the gift of life through the Indiana Donate Life program. In the midst of something so tragic, we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). The ripple effect of Aaron's immeasurable gift gives great peace to those who loved him. He was able to save numerous lives through organ and tissue donation.
Surviving with his mother, Diana Geisler, of Logansport, are siblings, Hollis "Chip" (Heather) Geisler, Richard Geisler, Alyssa (Matthew) Mead, Justin Geisler, Christina Geisler (Kyle Krauford), Brett Mohler, twins Benjamin and Derik Mohler and Angie Geisler (Ron) Fisher; aunts, Karen Steckel, and Mary Martha Johnston; several beloved nieces and nephews who adored their "Uncle Bubby," as well as a large extended family of aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends who were loved like family.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Mohler; and his dad, Richard "Dick" Geisler.
Following aquamation, Aaron's cremains will be scattered by his siblings in a private gathering at a place where they shared many wonderful memories.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on what would have been the eve of Aaron's 52nd birthday, at 5 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the New Life Alliance Church, 3529 High Street Road, Logansport.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services.
Those wishing to pay tribute to his life may do so with a contribution to the Nature Center at Turkey Run State Park, or by registering to be an organ donor at www.donatelifeindiana.org.
Aaron's family would love for you to share memories or photos in Aaron's guestbook at www.fisherfuneralchapel.com. Your words of comfort would mean so much to them during this time of loss.
