Acie Dixon, Sr., age 70, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
Acie C. Dixon, Sr. was born on June 22nd, 1955, to Emmitt Dixon and Daisy Young. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to proudly serve his country, spending two years in the United States Army and two years in the United States Marine Corps.
After completing his military service Acie married Bonnie Dixon and together they built a beautiful family. He pursued his passion for craftsmanship alongside his brothers before going on to work at Fleming Foods.
Acie was an avid fisherman who could often be found at the lake, teaching anyone willing to learn the art of catching fish and proudly showing off his prize catches, He loved listening to the blues, cooking delicious meals for his family and spending time visiting with his brothers and sisters.
A devoted son, brother, uncle, father, and grandfather, Acie’s favorite words “What up Dude?” will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his joyful family gatherings, the laughter and good food he shared, and his enduring faith and connection to the Lord.
Acie is preceded in death by his father Emmitt J. Dixon, his mother Daisy Lee Young, his four sisters Minnie Pearl Johnson, Daisy Nell Green, Emma Jean Jordan, and Wanda Hannan, his brothers Terry Dixon, Carl Edward Dixon, and Tommy Lee Dixon.
Acie leaves to cherish his memory, his ex-wife Bonnie Dixon, his daughters Naomi D. Dixon and Tiffany Ortiz, his sons Acie Dixon, Jr. (Julia) and Cedric Dixon (Emily), his sisters Lena Jackson and Maudie Thompson (Ray), his brothers Dave Dixon (Wanda), Lester Dixon, Michael Dixon (Stacie) and Bobby Dixon (Angel), his grandchildren Aladra Salazar (David, III), Amir Williams, Tyce Kinney, Machi McCleoud, Isis Kinney, Maliek Brown, London Dixon, Sidda’Lee, and Jace George, his great grandchildren David, IV, Gabriella, and Matco Salazar, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
