Adam H. Castro, 55, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on August 11, 2023. Adam was born on April 28, 1968, in Lubbock, TX, to Maria Caballero, and Pablo Castro.
Adam graduated from Estacado High School and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1987 and served for four years. After returning home, he dedicated his life to providing for his family. For several years he worked as a truck driver for Pepsi and US Foods service, and for the last 17 years he worked as a Crane Operator in the oil field. Weeks away from home, prolonged shifts in the hottest summers and coldest winters, Adam was there when work called him.
Adam was a family-oriented man who would affectionately refer to his mother as his “bestie” when describing her to others. They had a bond none of us will ever truly understand. One of his favorite things to do was spend hours on the golf course with his son, Cade, laughing, lecturing, and “showing him how it’s done.” He enjoyed being in the presence of his sister, Hope, her husband Carlos, and their daughter, Dakota, whose wishes he always made sure to fulfill. Adam and his family, whom he called his “crew,” spent countless days and nights together laughing until they cried, listening to music inside or on the patio of the family home, and creating memories that will last forever. Adam carried himself wholeheartedly and had an effect on everyone who crossed paths with him. He made the dark days brighter, the pain less painful, and left us with his wise and loving words in our hearts and minds to forever guide us. Our favorite hello, and hardest goodbye. Adam, a father, son, brother, and friend to all will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Adam is survived by one son, Cade Castro of Lubbock, TX; his mother, Maria Caballero; one sister, Hope (Carlos) Moreno of Lubbock, TX; one niece, Dakota Moreno; and two nephews, Joel Castro, and Michael Castro.
Adam is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Anthony Castro; his paternal grandparents, Elidoro Castro, and Esperanza Castro; and maternal grandparents, Luis Hernandez and Olivia Hernandez.
