Adam Matthew Kaplan, 53, died unexpectedly at home in Pennsylvania on December 23, 2025. He was the beloved son of Ellen Kaplan Weingold of West Hartford, CT, and the late Joseph Kaplan, M.D., and the stepson of the late Harris Weingold. He was the brother of Rebecca Kaplan of West Hartford and Germany, and the father of Rachel Kaplan of PA. Adam was a loved and loving son, brother, father, nephew, uncle, and cousin. He graduated from Hall High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Clark University. Adam was passionate about sports and had a career as a stock trader. A graveside funeral service will be held at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike in Wethersfield on Sunday, December 28, at 12 noon with Rabbi David Small officiating. A meal of consolation will be held at the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive in West Hartford immediately following cemetery services. Donations in Adam’s memory may be made to the Ellen and Harris Weingold Fund at the Emanuel Synagogue, CT Foodshare, or West Hartford Animal Control. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary. May his memory be for a blessing.
