With shattered hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Adam Conor McLaughlin, age 44, on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Born on May 3, 1981, Adam was one of ten children lovingly raised by Tom and Rose Anne McLaughlin. A devoted husband, fiercely loving father, loyal friend, and generous soul, Adam was the kind of person who made every space feel warmer just by being there.
Adam's wife, May-Lin, and his cherished children, Landon and Taylor, were the center of his world, the reason behind all he did, and his greatest pride. His love for them was deep, unwavering, and constant - a love that will live on in every story told, every memory shared, and every heart he touched.
Adam was a proud and hardworking member of Local 785, admired not only for his dedication and craftsmanship, but also for his kindness, camaraderie, and ever-ready willingness to help. Beyond the job site, he was a man of quiet passions, loud laughter, and a builder of models. He was also a curious reader, and an enthusiastic gamer who deeply valued time spent with friends and family. With a sharp wit, a quick joke, and a heart as wide as the sky, Adam brought comfort, levity, and love wherever he went. He was also a lifelong and loyal fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Detroit Lions.
Adam is survived by his mother, Rose Anne; his devoted wife, May-Lin; and by his treasured children, Landon and Taylor. He is also survived by his siblings: Ray (Amy), Nate (Heather), Holland (Melanie), Matt (Sarah), Paul (Tara), Anna, and Teresa (Dave). Each shared a lifetime of laughter, mischief, and deep connection with him. He leaves behind a wide circle of nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Adam and will carry his memory with them always. He was predeceased by his father, Tom, and his brothers, Jared and Luke - all of whom he now joins in peace.
Above all, Adam found joy in simply being with those he loved, and curled up with the family pets, laughing with his kids, sharing quiet evenings with May-Lin, or embracing the joyful chaos of family gatherings. He lived for those rich, real moments that give life its deepest meaning.
His absence leaves a silence that feels impossible to fill. But in the echo of his laughter, in the kindness he inspired, and in the lives of those who loved him, Adam's light continues to shine.
Calling Hours will be held for Adam on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm and again from 5:00-7:00 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. 1st Street, Corning, NY 14830. A private burial will take place at the discretion of the family.
Rest easy, Adam. We will love you always. We will miss you forever.
