Adam Henry Moyer was born September 3, 1937 in Jefferson Township, Berks County, to the parents Emma S. Moyer and Lehmas J. Moyer, Sr. He was one of 8 siblings. He is survived by wife Diane E. Moyer; daughter Monica M. Ziegler and son Sheldon A. Moyer; and grandchildren Elizabeth L. (Ziegler) Ditchcreek, (married to Samuel Ditchcreek), Natalie R. (Ziegler) Neiswinter (married to Adam Neiswinter) and Adam P. Moyer; and great-grand daughter Elle M. Neiswinter.
At a very early age Adam developed a respect for life and hard work. His first job outside the home, when he was in 9th grade, was at the Mt. Aetna Orchards. He was known as one man that could do the job of two. He graduated from Bethel High School in 1956 - and started to work as a plumber for Henry Schell Plumbing and Heating. In 1969, started his own business: A.H. Moyer, Inc. His working life was devoted to growing his business, serving the community and providing opportunities for his employees
Never idle in his pursuit of goals, Adam created the Moyer-Ziegler Partnership through which he renovated first a mobile home park and then 2 old elementary schools which were turned into apartments with the help of A.H. Moyer team. Today these are known as Home Room Commons located in Wernersville and Schoeneck. He sat on multiple boards, including borough council, other service organizations and the Professional Plumbing Association. As President of the State Association – he was instrumental in building the quality standards for the state plumbing codes.
Outside of work, Adam enjoyed time with his wife, family and friends and his "family of employees"; he loved them all. He and Diane loved to travel. And, as everyone knew he adored his grandchildren, and their accomplishments, even his greatgrandchild whom with he shared his love of green tractors. He planted fruit trees and processed his own cider – which everyone enjoyed. He was an avid Nascar fan, restored a Model A Ford, loved to create and build in his wood shop and grilled for everyone. In his "semi-retired" days he continued working on projects at the business and apartments.
His family, friends and employees (aka friends) will remember forever his generosity love and kindness – and the fact he was "never afraid to pick up a shovel to help" and his motivation to all.
After an acute illness, Adam passed away on September 18, 2024. His faith took him to be "with his maker". To the man we knew and loved: "TASHI DELEY" – 'We honor the greatness within you. We honor the place where lives your courage, honor, love, hope and dreams."
Adam is a loved husband, father, granddad, great grandad and employer and friend. He will be missed by all.
