Adam Szarlan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 20, 2025.
Adam Michael Szarlan, age 36, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 18, 2025.

Born in Monson, MA to Michael and the late Donna Marie (Izzo) Szarlan, he moved at the age of two and was primarily raised in Newark, DE. Adam was very fond of the memories that he made during his high school years, having graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in Wilmington. Following graduation, he spent time taking courses at the Lee Institute and was employed by Aramark. Adam spent time working in food service at the University of Delaware. In addition to his work, he was an avid gamer. During his younger years, he enjoyed vacationing with his grandparents, Ed and Yvonne Szarlan, in his hometown of Monson, MA. Most importantly, Adam's greatest joy in life was spending time with his niece and nephew, Eleanor and Julian.

Adam is survived by his father, Michael Szarlan; his brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Erin Szarlan; his niece and nephew, Eleanor and Julian Szarlan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Adam was predeceased by his mother, Donna Marie Szarlan; and his dearest uncle, Ed Szarlan.

So sorry for your loss Michael. He was such a sweet kid. I remember babysitting him and Ryan. They were beautiful children. Head full of blond hair, drawing pictures and just being a kid. I loved them both so much. I hope he is at peace with his mom.
