Lifelong resident of Massillon, Adele A. Moore, 92, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends on August 29, 2024, at Bethany Nursing Home of Canton. Adele was born on November 27, 1931, to the late Nicholas and Mary (Frem) Berbari of Massillon, OH. She was one of 12 brothers and sisters within her large extended Lebanese family. The bond all of these siblings had and still have is beyond special; watching them laugh and talk and disagree at times demonstrates the strength of this bond that has only deepened over the years. The siblings have given this gift of love and laughter to the extended family and resulted in a tight banding of "The Cousins!" Adele was most proud of her family - the one she was part of and the one she created. A graduate of Washington High School and voted for most beautiful eyes; Adele later worked for Elum Music Company of Massillon as a secretary. She enjoyed the energy of working in the music industry and always shared she enjoyed working in the fun and fast paced office. She met and married her husband Gene R. Moore (of Killbuck, OH) (1931-2010) in Massillon, and was married for 52 years. Adele and Gene had four children (see below) and created a family and home that was a special place for family and friends to gather. Through the years, Adele worked as a waitress at the Lincoln Lounge and a salesperson at GeorgeAnn's Dress Shop where she enjoyed chatting with patrons and becoming friends with many. Adele was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Canton where she attended weekly mass, sent her 4 children to St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and volunteered when needed. Adele enjoyed her Catholic faith very much and was an avid prayer of the rosary and novena. She often would tell a friend or family member in need that she would pray for them and she meant it! She would say a special rosary just for them. It was often joked that Adele had a "direct line to God!". Adele was also a faithful and loving Sitie (Grandmother in Lebanese) to her 10 grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally but did not hold back a life lesson she felt they needed to hear. Her grandchildren are now grown, and you can often hear them repeat a "life lesson" that came from their Sitie. She was adored "Aunt Adele" by "too many to count" cousins, nephews & nieces - a special shout out to her "Special Elaine". Aunt Adele loved them ALL and always had something kind to say about each of them. Noted for her cooking and hospitality Adele loved entertaining with neighbors, friends and family and especially cooking for her grandchildren. There was always someone at the kitchen counter to chat with Adele and before you know it she was feeding them. Adele was proud of her Lebanese heritage and so Lebanese dishes were a regular, but she was also noted for her baking featuring her home-made pies and cheesecake. Adele had a real sweet tooth. She truly was the host with the most! Adele had a flare for style and no matter when and where you saw Adele, she was always well put together and took pride in how she looked. She was the kind of woman who seemed to "age in reverse" - she was beautiful both inside and out and it showed in so many ways. Adele was a true Lady and will be missed by many. Adele is survived by her loving children, Ginamarie (John) Miller of Canton, Mark Steven Moore of Perry, Lisa Ann (Chip) Hanson of Atlanta, and Dianna (David) Vredenburgh of Boston; grandchildren, McKenzie Miller,Mikayla (Ramses) Clements, Jonathan Miller, Steven Moore,Madison Moore, Chad (Carly) Hanson, Olivia Hanson, Eva Vredenburgh, Max Vredenburgh, and Henry Vredenburgh; great-grandson, Cooper Clements; siblings, John Berbari, Sr., George Berbari, Rosemarie George, and Yvonne Jesser; and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Moore; siblings, Joseph Berbari, Thomas Berbari, Angeline Rashid, Juliet Habib, Jeannette Elum, Lucille Berbari, and Georgina Berbari.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 AM. St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Canton, OH

To all the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember your mom as being a very sweet person with a friendly personality and nice smile. My mom and I would sometimes sit with her in church. We would enjoy talking to to her after mass. I was just thinking of her last week and often kept her in my prayers. Please know I will be praying for all of you
