Adeline Cilurso Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Demarco-Luisi Funeral Home on May 25, 2025.
Obituary of Adeline Cilurso
Adeline C. Cilurso, 92, of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025. Born on July 15, 1932, in Camden, New Jersey, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Adeline was the heart of our family. She made every holiday special, passing down cherished family traditions - from the Feast of the Seven Fishes at Christmas to raisin bread and meat pie at Easter. Her home was always decorated to perfection, and Christmas music began playing in September - that was our mom. Her kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of endless cookies for every occasion.
She also had a passion for gardening and a gift for writing poetry. She created a personal poem for each of us; treasures we will hold close forever. Adeline was always in motion - a true doer. She lived by the words of her father: "If you stop moving, you'll rust." That became her motto, and one we will carry with us.
She leaves behind a void in our hearts that will never be filled, but her legacy of love, tradition, and strength will live on through all of us.
Adeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 75 years, Frederick A. Cilurso, and her cherished grandson, Ricky C.
She is survived by her children: Lyn Barney; Frederick (Rick) Cilurso and his wife, Kathy; Karen Cullen and her husband, Michael; Robin Herrmann and her husband, Dennis. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Stacy, Ryan, Matthew, Jason, Michael, Kyle, Tyler, and Eric; her great-grandchildren: Hunter, Riley, Addy, Alex, Crew, Hudson, Romy, and Levi; and her great-great-grandchildren: Kyle, Jacob, and Grace. Adeline is also survived by her three sisters - Ester, Ellie, and Rosie - as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Please join Adeline's family and friends in honoring her life on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Burial will be private for family.

I am sorry to hear about Aunt Ads, we had not seen each other in a long time, but had some long conversations on the phone, talking about things from long ago, I will be thinking of you all in this very difficult time Lyn, Ricky, Karen Lee and Robin and your families.

So many loving memories with my Aunt Ads she treated me like one of her own so many summers. I still have all the letters she sent me from a child to grown up. Re reading them has always made me feel so loved. I was blessed to have both Aunt Ads and Uncle Fred in my life. I am so sorry for the loss you are feeling.Love you all!

My earliest memories of Aunt Ads place her in the bustling Colangelo household, located just around the corner from my family´s home. Ads and her younger sisters were about the age of my own sister. And so I thought of them all as additional big sisters rather than as aunts. The "aunts" were Ads´ older sisters, my mother being the eldest of eight. Even as a teen, Ads exhibited the gentle and caring manner that she maintained throughout her life. She surely had her moments -all of us do- but to me she was always an oasis of calm amidst the sometimes hectic comings and goings in the Colangelo household.

Carol and I send sincere condolences to cousins Lyn, Ricky, Karen and Robin and their families. Your Mom: Caring, creative, true to her faith and full of grace. A life well-lived.
