Adeline was born March 7, 1926 to Joseph and Alice Kadera. She lived her early life in Chicago, Illinois. She was married to the love of her life, Charles Fischer, and they lived their early years in Berwyn, IL. Upon retirement, Adeline and Charles split their time between Florida and their lake house in Wisconsin. Adeline is survived by her sons Wayne (Elaine) and Charles (Julia), her son in law, Bob Thomason, her grandchildren: Amy Ferrer (Channing), Michelle St. John (Doug), Patrick Fischer (Laine), Kim Fischer, and Jeffrey Thomason (Kim) and great grandchildren: Abby, Maddie, Ryder, Caden, Connor, Mikayla, Colton, Isabella, Owen, Judson and Charlie Kay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, daughter, Linda and sister, Janice.
Adeline’s greatest joy was in her family. Many memories with children and grandchildren were created at the lake house in Wisconsin. Boating, water skiing, snacks on the deck, Sunday dinners, snowmobiling, fireworks and playing games were enjoyed by all. Adeline was a gracious and kind hostess, often preparing meals days in advance for the family as they descended upon the lake house.
She enjoyed serving our veterans by making tied fleece blankets and helping at special breakfasts for them while in Florida. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and continued to travel even after his death. In her younger years, Adeline taught Sunday School, was a Cub Scout Den Mother and helped out at her children’s schools. Later, Adeline would enjoy time as a teacher’s aide at a pre-school.
Adeline was a wonderful artist (painting) and loved all kinds of crafting. She especially enjoyed working with her husband as they created wooden villages, Christmas figures and beautiful ornaments that are treasured by her family. Her paintings are cherished remembrances of Adeline.
In her later years, Adeline resided at Cedar Lake Assisted Living Community where she was an active participant in the book club, bingo, Jeopardy, and her special favorite, balloon volleyball. The time at Cedar Lake afforded her special family time with those in the area (and with those who came to visit). She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Private burial will be held.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 27 at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 Algonquin Rd., Entrance B, South Barrington, IL 60010, with a reception to follow beginning at 12pm.
