Adolph Ernst Wehner, age 94 of Beverly Shores, IN, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. He was born on October 25, 1929 in Gössenreuth, Germany to Johann and Kuni (Lauterbach) Wehner who preceded him in death. Adolph is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lydia (Beyerlein) Wehner; sons, Tom Wehner of Beverly Shores, Peter Wehner of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters, Gabriele (Leo) Cinko of Chicago, IL, Melanie (Joe Arlia) Wehner of Fountain Hill, AZ; sister, Lotte Wehner of Germany; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.
Adolph grew up in Germany and always had a desire to see the world. He emigrated to the United States and joined the Army. He was then stationed in Germany, where he married the love of his life, Lydia, and brought his young family back to grow up in his new home country. Adolph's desire to see the world never quite settled, and in his retirement years he and Lydia took many trips, and Adolph ventured out on his own to experience some of the more far away destinations. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Memorial service for Adolph will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Adolph Wehner Family, via Zelle to [email protected]. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.ee-fh.com.
