Agnes Lorene Lowe Cox, age 97, Rock Spring, GA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, surrounded by her family at Morning Pointe, Happy Valley Assisted Living.

She was born to the late Samuel Lowe and Effie Hogan Lowe of Harrison, TN. She was a faithful member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where she served well for many years.

She will be missed by her loved ones, church family, and neighbors and precious friends, especially those at the Silver Sneakers at Fieldstone in Rock Spring where she attended faithfully for many years. She loved quilting and made quilts for all her family. She also enjoyed camping.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, James R. Cox (J.R.); sons, Jimmy E. Cox, Clyde Cox, and Ricky Cox; grandson, Robert Cox; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Cox.

Survivors are her children, Claude Cox (Cathie), Linda Alexander (Jimmy), Joyce Parker (Larry), and Darlene Blalock (Mark); 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 9, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Shane Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00 pm to the hour of service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
