Agnes “Marie” Ryburn passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of wanderlust and many heart felt memories. Marie was born on Sunday, June 21,1942 in Glade Spring, VA to the late Kenneth Gerald and Mary Regan Ryburn. She was a lifelong adventurer, finding joy in the many places she moved around the country.
Marie was a woman of all trades. You name it, she likely did it. She retired from Food Lion in Roanoke, VA working many years in their meat and deli department. Those who knew Marie knew that she was bigger than life itself, always the one with a positive attitude no matter what obstacle life threw at her. She went through many storms with a courageous smile. Marie gave fully of herself to others rarely expecting a thing in return. She rejoiced in seeing anyone smile and found happiness in the things that she could do for them. Her free-spirited humbleness set an example for many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Ryburn; sister, Janet Glynn Ryburn; brother, Jerry Ryburn, Jr.; and nephew, Ben Ryburn.
Marie is survived by her children, Robert and Michelle Coe of Monterey, TN and Michelle and Randy Tuggle of Marion, VA; sister, Landa McCrady of Damascus, VA; grandchildren, Christina Coe, Aubree Way, Larry and Breeauna Lee, Kylie and Alston Flowers, Chloe Coe, Brayden Coe, Lesley and Ron Rudder, and Marcus and Elizabeth Tuggle; great-grandchildren, Chantry Lee, Saphryne-Jade Lee, Landry Lee, Kyler Lee, Kayne Bride, Arlo Coe, Zoey Rudder, Eli Rudder, Leila Rudder, Willow Rudder, Lilly Tuggle, Dot Tuggle, Kailey Tuggle, and Gus Tuggle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Wythe County Hospice and their incredible nurses, especially Mary Perkins, for their unwavering support and compassion during Marie’s final days.
A graveside service for Marie Ryburn will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA.
