Agnes H. Sprague, age 69, passed away on March 25, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on February 7, 1956, in Houma, Louisiana, to Hilton and Marie Hornsby.
A dedicated professional, Agnes worked as a receptionist at Russel Saloon Ophthalmology, where her warm presence and friendly disposition made a lasting impression on all who entered.
Outside of work, Agnes had a passion for many activities. She loved to sew was an avid cook, always eager to try new recipes and share her culinary delights with loved ones. In her leisure time, she enjoyed solving puzzles and playing cards. Agnes was a loyal LSU sports fan and enjoyed watching games over the years… Geaux Tigers!
Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dennis Sprague; her brother, Hilton Anthony Hornsby Jr.; niece, Mary Elizabeth Hornsby-Martinez (Brian); nephew, Timothy Paul Hornsby (Kristi); great-nieces, Jessica Page Fernandez, Kristina Marie Fernandez, Kelsie Nicole Fernandez, Emily Joanne Hornsby, and Hanna Marie Hornsby; great-nephew, John Lucas Hornsby; and her great-great-niece, Aubrie Elizabeth Rutledge.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hilton Hornsby; her mother, Ednolia Marie DuBois; and her sister, Sister Agnes Maureen Hornsby of School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA. A Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, with a rosary to start at 10:40 AM. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
