Agnese Helena Megnis Fulkerson, 78, Greenwood, passed away after an extended illness January 11, 2021. She was born November 22, 1942, in Kuldiga, Latvia to the late Janis and Anna (Veckungs) Megnis.

She graduated from Shortridge High School. Always one with an adventurous spirit, Agnese moved to California in her early 20s and worked for a radio station. She later lived in Idaho and worked for AAA. After moving back to Indianapolis, she was employed for many years at the Indiana University School of Medicine, retiring as the Assistant Director to the Dean’s Office for the Medical Center. She was a longtime member of the St. Mark Catholic Church and the Indianapolis Latvian Center. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and reading. She loved to ride motorcycles and travel. Above all, she was strongly devoted to her family and was especially proud of her only daughter and her granddaughters. Agnese will be remembered for her kind and gentle soul; she was loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eduards.

Survivors include her daughter, Whitney (Rob) Bowman; brother, Juris Megnis; sister, Silvia Megnis; granddaughters, Aija, Ayslin, and Kiley Bowman.

Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2021, 12 pm to 1:30 p.m., in the O’Riley Funeral Home, followed by prayers at 1:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, in St. Mark Catholic Church.
