Aileen Thom Obituary
Age 85, of Williamsburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Aileen was born on June 13, 1940, in Newport, Rhode Island to Irving and Sophie (nee Radomski) Ezyk. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Thom, who passed away on October 25, 2012.
Aileen was a devoted and loving mother to her children: Linda (Larry) Barylski of Macomb, Mark (Julie) Thom of Caledonia, Susan (Mark) Mikolaiczik of Williamsburg, and Keith (Tanya) Thom of Oxford.
She was a cherished grandmother to twelve grandchildren: Nicholas (Amanda) Hauler, Jennifer Thom (Matthew Smith), Christopher Hauler (Andrea Huber), Michael (Stephanie) Thom, Heather (Kyle) Hendley, David (Alyssa) Thom, Ashley (Nathan) Ply, Alec Mikolaiczik (Bethany Campbell), Blake Mikolaiczik (Breeana Markham), Matthew Thom (predeceased), Logan Thom, and Rachael Thom. She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren.
Aileen was a graduate of Dominican Catholic High School. She began her career working at Hudson's Department Store in downtown Detroit, later founded her own drapery company, and eventually became a business partner alongside her husband at Thom Office Products.
She had a deep love for community involvement and event coordination throughout her life. Among her favorite roles were serving as a team leader at her tennis club, hosting hayrides with Santa for the Lockwood Hills residents, and organizing annual Halloween parades at her home in Oxford, Michigan-traditions that brought joy to many families.
In addition to her husband and grandson, Aileen was predeceased by her brothers Irving and Thomas Ezyk. Her brother Michael, his wife Becky, sister-in-law Pam Ezyk and many nieces and nephews survive.
Visitation for Aileen will be held at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (three blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica, on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 6:00 p.m. Aileen will lie in state on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion, until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest following the service at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
