Senior Airman Gregory Kirk Riley, Jr. ObituarySenior Airman Gregory Kirk Riley, Jr., was greeted in Heaven by his paternal grandparents Margaret Louise Riley and James Robert Riley, Sr., on November 17, 2024. He was stationed on the Kadena Air Force base in Japan with the 18th Security Forces Squadron, the Defenders. Born on February 1, 2001 in Baltimore, MD, he was 23 years old and a son of Gregory Kirk Riley, Sr. and his wife Rebecca Riley and mother, Joey Leanna (Roland) Riley.
A 2019 Perryville High school graduate, he continued his education with two years at St. Mary's College. On August 17, 2021, Greg enlisted with the United States Air Force. Upon entering Active Duty, Senior Airman Riley went to Basic Military Training and Security Forces Technical School at Joint Base San Antonio in Lackland, Texas. In June of 2022 he was assigned and moved to the 18th Security Forces Squadron at Kadena Air Force Base in Japan.
Greg always made sure everyone else was taken care of and happy. He lit up every room he stepped into with his awkward smile and playful personality. Greg excelled in everything that he did.
Greg was very athletic and was a talented soccer player, he played on his college basketball and lacrosse teams. While stationed in Japan, he played flag football, basketball and was on a bowling team. His family wishes everyone to find comfort in Psalm 34:18-The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

His sisters Brittany Elaine Bastarache, (nephew Maxwell David) and Desiree Lashawn Griffin, (nephew Timothy Deshon), and brothers Dyrle Yasir Griffin, Andrew Joseph Cosenza, Liam Cole Riley and Kaiden Thomas Riley.
Maternal grandmother Virginia Katherine Toy and maternal grandfather Joseph Ray Roland.
Maternal great grandmother Brenda Ruth Toy and maternal great grandfather James Maxwell Toy II.
Services will be held in Conowingo Baptist church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD with a visitation with the family from 6-9 on Friday evening, December 6th. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, the 7th in the church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Curtis Strange officiating.
A private interment with military honors is scheduled for his family.
