Alan D. Buckley, 86, of West Boylston, went home to be with the Lord Jesus in Heaven on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
He was born in Worcester, MA, raised in Auburn by his parents, the late Gordon and Lucy (Davis) Buckley, alongside his sister, the late Cynthia D'Arrigo. His college education was at WPI and Clark University. He taught high school science and math at David Prouty High School, Spencer, North Haven High School, North Haven, CT, and Wachusett Regional High School, Holden. The industrial phase of his career consisted of employment at Johnson Steel and Wire Co., Worcester, Butcher Polish Co., Marlboro, and Presmet Corp., Worcester. Before his retirement, he worked as an environmental engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He married Carole Adams in 1964, and Carole went home to be with Jesus in 1985. He married Mary (Nichols) Belmain in 1990. Alan had a conversion experience that resulted in him coming to faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord and he served the Lord for many years in ministries at First Assembly of God, Worcester, MA. He also served as an area representative for The Voice of the Martyrs, a Christian ministry to persecuted believers around the world. Even after the untimely death of his first wife Carole, he never doubted or questioned God's love or goodness. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Christine Azevedo and her husband Al, his daughter Lisa Sullivan and her husband Mark, their children William, Caroline, and Ned, also Mary's son Mark Belmain and his wife Lisa, and their children Elizabeth Patterson and her husband Mark, and Michael Belmain. He also leaves a cousin, Anice Ruda, and two nieces, Amy D'Arrigo and Laurie Martino.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Voice of the Martyrs, P.O. Box 443, Bartlesville OK 74005-0443 (www.VOM.org/donate).
