ALAN DEITCHMAN Obituary

DEITCHMAN, Alan Stanley Of West Roxbury, January 4, 2026. Devoted father of Pamela Powers of Holden. Loving grandfather of Nathan Powers and Max Powers, both of Holden. Brother of Carolyn Glinn of Coral Gables, Florida. Preceded in death by mother, Rhoda Deitchman; father, Henry Deitchman; and sister, Sheila Deitchman. Alan was born in Dorchester, MA and moved to West Roxbury in his teens. He had a gift for learning languages and spoke French and Spanish fluently. He won the Lawrence Prize for excellence in the French language at Boston English High School. Alan enlisted in the Army after high school and served valiantly in Vietnam. After serving, he combined his love for performing and for country western music by pursuing a career as a DJ under the name of Cam Walker. His sharp wit and melodious voice made him one of the most popular personalities on the stations at which he worked. Alan spent a number of years as an aid in hospitals and nursing homes. His outgoing personality and unique background helped him relate to patients from all walks of life and nationalities. Later in life, he worked in the trucking industry and enjoyed travelling throughout New England, meeting people and making friends. Alan's family and friends are grateful to the VA staff in West Roxbury and Brockton for the loving care they provided Alan during his illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, on January 16, at the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY. For guestbook, gormleyfuneral.com William J.
