Alan T. French passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Hillsdale Hospital. He was born on October 29, 1945, to George and Margie (Zeiter) French.
Alan is survived by his wife Darcia French, whom he married on July 27, 1968. Alan and Darcia were married for 56 years. Alan is also survived by his son, Chad French; one grandson, Alex French; one sister, Bonnie (Francis) Elliot; one sister-in-law, Tania Allen; three special nieces, Kesia (Jessie) Faluski, Joni Smith, and Raquel Ketterman; and two special nephews, Logan Blalock and Robbie Allen, and several other nieces & nephews.
Alan is preceded in passing by his parents, his son Christopher French, and one sister in-law Lisa Blalock.
Alan worked for 38 years as a freight conductor for Conrail Railroad, which was based in Jackson, Michigan.
Alan enjoyed his 1978 yellow Z28 Camaro and his 2012 white/silver Mini Cooper, and he enjoyed putting his cars in various local car shows. The family also always made a yearly trip to St. Ignace, Michigan, where Alan enjoyed showing his cars in the St. Ignace Car Show. Alan also enjoyed fishing and was a gun enthusiast.
At Alan's request, cremation has taken place, and there are no services scheduled at this time.
