Alan Ihus, age 60 of rural Blanchardville, WI passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital – Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was born March 27, 1963, in Monroe, WI the son of Donald and Pauline (Kuhnke) Ihus. Alan grew up in rural Blanchardville and attended high school in Darlington, WI. He spent many years farming and helping his family around the house.
Alan is survived by his daughter Abigail Ihus of Blanchardville, WI; his sisters: Janet (Brian Arnold) Ihus of Apple River, IL, Tamara Ihus of Apple River, IL and Brandi Ihus of Blanchardville; his nieces and nephews: Adam Schaar, Rani Vance, Hali Stodola, Daniel Rolli, Alexander Olsen, and Carlton Cox; many great-nieces and nephews; and two aunts: Margaret Pyfer and Grace Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents; one niece: Tracy Trickel; 3 nephews: Travis and Troy Trickel, Dylan Schaar and many aunts and uncles.
Alan enjoyed farming and tinkering around the farm. He always liked to visit with friends and family and pranking them during Christmas by wrapping gifts with loads of tape and paper. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Alan had no problem traveling far and wide to pick up scrap metal. He loved his family, especially his daughter Abigail. In his free time, he liked to go bowling and always cheered on the Green Bay Packers.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Lutheran Church (1540 Old Hwy 81, Argyle) with Rev. Dave Olson officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
