Alan Dwayne Martin

Alan Dwayne Martin, 64, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 1, 1961, Alan lived a life defined by hard work, laughter, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Alan was first and foremost a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He shared nearly 30 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Rita Martin, whom he married on July 14, 1996. Their bond was the foundation of his life, and his family was always his greatest priority.

Known for his joking nature and warm personality, Alan had a special way of making people laugh and feel at ease. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand or share a smile. As the owner of ACP – Alan's Custom Painting, he took immense pride in his work and built a reputation for being hardworking, dependable, and honest. His work was more than a job-it was a reflection of the care and dedication he put into everything he did.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Martin and Vera McGraw, and his brother, Ricky Martin.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Martin; his sons, Michael Martin, Steven Martin, and Barry Oliver (wife, Nicole); and his daughter, Lacy Dubberly (husband, Franklin), all of whom he loved dearly. Alan was a cherished grandfather to Hayden Martin, Kinsley Martin, A'kaycia Davis, Oaklyn Breier, Kobe Martin, Jordan Oliver, and Alana Oliver, each of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Todd Chambers, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 12, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens.

Alan will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the unwavering love he had for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he loved so well.
