Mr. Christopher Bernard Burden

Mr. Christopher Bernard Burden was born on September 4, 1968, to Virginia Burden and Walter James Burden in Griffin, Georgia. He received his formal education at Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia.

Christopher accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was united with Tabernacle of Joy.

Christopher was employed by Dundee Mills for several years. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, taking walks, he loved cars, listening to music, he was an independent spirit, who valued his time yet the bonds he formed were genuine and lasting. The thing he loved the most was spending time with his family.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Mr. Christopher Bernard Burden's name was called, and he answered and was free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ms. Pamela R. Burden, grandmother, Mrs. Inez D. Parks, aunt, Mary Janes McDowell, uncle, Arthur James Dukes, great grandmother, Mary Lou Pope, and grandfather, Columbus Bell.

Mr. Christopher Bernard Burden leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Virginia Pope Burden, father, Walter James Burden, his daughter, Shantanae Darnese Welch, his son, Christopher Collins, one granddaughter, Trinity Mariana Reed, siblings, Chevone Burden, Walter (Connie) Burden, Tremacheal Burden, and Kamika (Tommy) McDowell, uncles and aunts, Johnny Dukes, Gary Dukes, Mario Parks, Lydia (Jessie) Maddox, and Chrystal (Reginald) Bnakston. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

Viewing will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Garden. Rev. Calvin Thomas, Sr., is the Eulogist.
