Alan Clark McKay received his wings on March 7, 2025 at 4:00 a.m. after losing his battle with cancer. Alan was born February 5, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, partner, father figure, and friend. Alan grew up in Hannibal, MO, Oskaloosa, IA, Hazelwood, MO and Alton, IL. Alan loved family gatherings and would invite everyone to his annual fish fry, which all loved ones looked forward to. There was always a lot of laughter and silliness at the gatherings. Alan's affection for children and animals showed his softer side. His love for his mom, family, and friends were made apparent by his actions. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. Especially when his friend Earl was with him.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Brandt; two brothers, Noel (Marty) McKay and Michael McKay; two nieces, Marla (Keith) Bryan and Cassie McKay and nephew, Keegan McKay. Alan loved his partner Kathy Hartman, and her children Carl, Lisa, and William. A private celebration of life will be held later this month.
