Alan Palmer, age 65, of Cherry Hill, died Saturday, August 7, 2004.

He was born on October 10, 1938 at Augusta, Georgia, the son of Harry Nathaniel Palmer and Ira Mae Culver Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Paul Palmer, and one sister, Shirley Dinkins.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Glenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Palmer of Cherry Hill; seven sons and their spouses, Kimball and Brenda Palmer of Sims, Hyrum and Kelly Palmer of Longview, Texas, Joseph and Jennifer Palmer of Queen Creek, Arizona, Benjamin and Carrie Palmer of Russellville, Samuel and Sarah Palmer of Elkins, Adam and Tamalee Palmer of Syracuse, Utah and Jacob Palmer of Cherry Hill; four daughters and their spouses, Rachel and Kelly Wheeler of Siloam Springs, Rebecca and John Klienman of Camp Verde, Arizona, Melanie and J. D. Griggs of Cherry Hill, and Elizabeth and Ken Lyman of Cherry Hill; forty-eight grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Pat Palmer of Oden; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Earl Alsop of West Valley, Utah.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Hyrum Wheeler, Benjamin Palmer, Samuel Palmer, Joseph Palmer, Jacob Palmer, John Klienman, J. D. Griggs and Ken Lyman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
