Loving husband, father, PawPaw, and friend, Alan Wayne Roberts, was born February 15, 1964, in Houston Texas. He unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Alan was a man of many hats; he was best known for his welding skills and knowledge. He was always there to teach and assist his fellow employees at Fleaux Services. He was known to them as "Old Man" and wore that hat proudly. Alan would take on many projects at the family property and was Mr. Fix-It, for sure. He would help with and design whatever his wife envisioned and was always a go-to for the shenanigans of his son and his daughter-in-law. Aside from all the staying busy he was an awesome family man. He took pride in bragging about the accomplishments of his kids and especially his grandchildren. Alan was always down to participate or spectate in anything those kids needed or wanted him to do.
Alan enjoyed the outdoors and was seen often on his porch enjoying the sun, a cigarette, and a beverage. He loved for his family to gather, eat what he cooked on the grill, and listen to some good music. Alan really loved when his daughter would sing to him and make him feel like the only man in the room. As long as friends and family were having a good time, so was Alan.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Helen Roberts. He is survived by his soul mate, wife of 38 years and best friend, Stephanie; daughter, Susan and husband, Darren; son, David and wife, Jennifer; granddaughters, Brooklyn, Makenzie, and Josie; grandson, Lincoln; and sister, Lynn (James).
A celebration of Alan's life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday March 11, 2024, at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Avenue, Shreveport. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00pm. Officiating the service will be John Burnes.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the thoughts and prayers as we try to adjust to the great loss of our, Pal.
