Alan V. Rogers passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born to Jerry and Dorothy, née Vollrath, Rogers in 1946 and was raised with his younger brother, Kenny, in Chicago, before residing in Evanston and Skokie.
Alan was the loving husband of Susan Swanson, devoted father of Nathan and Micaiah Rogers, and dear brother of the late Kenneth (Mary). He also leaves behind many extended family and friends.
Alan was an accomplished systems engineer who shared his passion for technology with his family. In his free time, he was a hobbyist historian with interests ranging from Minoan civilization to Native American culture to the dynamic 20th century time period that he grew up in. Alan shared his fondness of music and his passion for reading, such as detective novels and science fiction, with his loved ones.
Our family would like to thank Alan's extraordinary and admirable caregivers and staff at Presbyterian Homes Westminster Place, and the dedicated team with Residential Hospice. Your compassion and support made Alan's stay safe, nurturing, and joyful.
Private Memorial Services for Alan in Skokie and Chicago are planned for a later time.
