Alan H. Shauck

Alan H. Shauck, 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Lorain, Ohio. He was born to Robert and Barbara Shauck (nee Hanson) on April 25, 1957 in Lima, Ohio.
Al graduated from Marion L. Steele in 1975. He began his career at Edwards Tree Service, then Ecotree Service. Al was very passionate about his work; early in his career he became a certified arborist. He was past president of the Ohio Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture and was the current Vice President of the Ohio Independent Arborists Association. He advanced to become a self-employed consulting arborist; most recently working with Oberlin College.
Al enjoyed spending time riding his Harley, gun collecting, reading, cooking, music, nature and woodworking. He had a variety of skills and enjoyed helping family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Yolanda Shauck (nee Contreras), daughter Chloe Shauck, son Jacob Shauck, sisters Cindy Cole (Tim), Sandy Feicht (Dave), brother Jim Shauck (Mindy), many brother -in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and his best buddy Max (dog). He will be dearly missed by many.
Family will be receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1st at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral Home, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Ohio 44001. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 7:00 p.m.
