Albert Aversano, aged 82, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of November 18, 2024. Born in New York City to Raffaella and Raffaello Aversano, Al was a proud graduate of Kerhonkson High School, class of 1960. Throughout his life, he embraced the spirit of entrepreneurship, building a legacy marked by his adventurous pursuits.

In 1970, Al married his late wife, Diane, in Las Vegas, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that took them around the world before they ultimately settled in Myrtle Beach. Known for his generous heart, his infectious sense of humor, and his remarkable cooking—especially his beloved eggplant parmesan—Al brought joy to those around him. He was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of the New York Giants and Yankees, cherishing every moment spent with his family and friends.

Al is survived by his loving siblings: Josephine Mazzella, Daniel Aversano (Ellen-Jane), Mario Aversano, and Ralph Aversano (Deborah Schult). He also leaves behind his stepson, John Scoza (Terry McIntosh), as well as a host of cherished nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Amanda, Theresa, Daniel, Elaine, John, Niska, Mario Paul, and Michael. His friendships with individuals such as Charlotte Rasnick, Gene Geraldo, and Ralph Stork were also very dear to him.

In addition to his many loved ones, Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane; his parents, Ralph and Rae Aversano; and several aunts and uncles. He will always be remembered for the love he shared and the lives he touched.

Memorial visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 25th, at Humiston Funeral Home in Kerhonkson from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26th, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Kerhonkson, followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery in Stone Ridge.

Albert Aversano will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Donations can be made to preborn.com in Al's memory.
