My heartfelt condolences to family and friends. I will always remember Al from his playing days as well as the Turfside. A wonderful, great guy. 4-6 of my buddies would show up on 'all you can eat spaghetti Wednesdays". I still have quite a collection of 'The Old Reliable' glasses. After some badgering week after week, I finally got him to give me the recipe so I could make them at home. He did swear me to secrecy though. Rest in Peace, Al.

I remember your father as the wrestling coach of Saint Francis , as I was a CANISIUS high wrestler and always remember him as a big personality with a big heart. Although an opponent, he took the time to speak to me afterwards to congratulate me and offer some advice . It is those little kind words that I remember and others do as well. RIP big man Al .
Regards,
Angelo Natale

I forgot to mention that in the 80s I met Al in person when he was substitute teaching at Lafayette High School, where I taught. The students loved him simply because Al was always kind and gracious in the classroom as he was in life. It was a thrill for me to reminisce with Al about the success of the 60s Bills.

Following Big Al and the outstanding Bills' teams of the 1960s was one of the highlights of my life. I will never forget Al and players such as Tom Sestak, Ron Mcdole, Jim Dunaway, Tom Day, all three linebackers, and Jack Kemp at quarterback. Those indeed were the "good old days"--gone, but never forgotten by me as well as the many ardent Bills' fans of the 1960s.
Al was one of the greats at his position and a humble man.
RIP Big Al.

I had the honor of playing for Coach Bemiller in the early 80"s at Buffalo State College. We already had a connection because my Mom was a Buffalo Jill when he played for the Bills in 1969. He was a unique character, funny and always had a story to tell. A Buffalo Sports Legend, a great football player, an excellent coach and even better man! Thanks for the memories, may you huddle up with the Lord in Heaven, God Bless you and the entire Bemiller family.
