Tilton, NH..Mr. Albert J. Bosselait, 93 of Maple Ct., Tilton died on March 25, 2004 at his daughter’s home in Topsham, Maine.

He was born in Greenville, NH on May 20, 1910 the son of Nascisse and Aurora (Robichaud) Bosselait. He was raised in Greenville and later resided in Concord and West Lebanon before moving to Tilton. Mr. Bosselait graduated from UNH with a BS in 1937 and later attended Hannemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He also graduated from The New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science, and Embalming in Boston, Mass. in the late 30’s. He was a licensed funeral director in NH and Vermont.

Before World War II, he worked at NH State Hospital in Concord and worked part-time at Waters Funeral Home in Concord and later worked at the former Hale Funeral Home in Franklin and McNamara –Nichols Funeral Home in West Lebanon. Mr. Bosselait the worked at Scott & Williams in Laconia in 1942 and for a short time after his military service.

From 1942 to 1945 he served in The US Army Medical Detachment 820th Medical Air Evacuation Squadron in New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. Mr. Bosselait served as a medical and surgical technician and administered emergency medical care to the wounded be evacuated by air from front lines. He also attended to prisoners of war, both allied and enemy.

Following the War he was employed for many years at Johns Manville in Tilton until retiring. He also worked with his brother Edward in cleaning offices of Dr. Frank Robinson, Dr. M. Jonathan Mishcon, and Tilton Sand & Gravel. They also did cleaning at Spaulding Youth Center.

He was former member of Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post #49 in Northfield and Franklin VFW Post 1698.

Mr. Bosselait was an active member of St. Mary of The Assumption Church in Tilton were he was an altar server and member of The Holy Name Society.

In later years, he enjoyed traveling to visit his daughters and families in Iceland and Germany and throughout the US.

Family members include his wife Mrs. Exzelia (Robert) Bosselait, whom he married on Dec. 26, 1945, 2 daughters: Mrs. “Bud” (Mary) Conner of Topsham, Maine and Mrs. Jim (Joan) Chambers of Stafford, VA., 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Monday, March 29th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 30th at 10 am in St. Mary of The Assumption Church. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Tilton later in the spring.
