Albert Sumner Brooks Jr.

Albert Brooks Jr. (aka Buddy Brooks), age 94 years, of Westford MA died on Thursday April 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. For 63 years he was the husband of Arline Seeley Brooks and the son of the late Albert Brooks Sr. and Maude Watson. He was one of five children, born in Lincoln, MA on September 9, 1930. At a young age Buddy Brooks discovered he was an animal whisperer and spent most of his time exploring the woods around the farmhouse in Lincoln. That was the start of his unlimited knowledge of every tree, plant and bird, a self-proclaimed Huckleberry Finn.
Throughout his years he created some of the most beautiful landscaping, built major highways, could operate any piece of heavy equipment, but most of all he shared this knowledge with his 8 children, Stephen Brooks, Cherie Price, Phyllis McLean, Rose Schifferdecker, Mark Brooks, Kelly Coggeshall, Robin Osborne and Gary Brooks. He has 72 descendants including grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren all who admire and looked up to their father and grandfather.
Albert was a devote member of the Church of God. He traveled the country in fellowship with other members of the church for 45 years. He celebrated the Sabbath and his love of God, and his church came first in his life.
He was a fervent gardener, raising his family on fresh fruits and vegetables. If you went to his house, you had to tour the garden with him feeding you down every row and all the little ones getting a wagon ride behind his tractor while singing his favorite silly songs and hearing his famous "Papa" jokes. Himself, his friends and family proclaimed his garden "The Most Beautiful Garden in America". His legacy will be that many of his children and grandchildren now love and have their own gardens (all of which are the second-best gardens in America).
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday April 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
