Albert Cabana Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Easton on Sep. 1, 2025.
Albert "Al" W. Cabana, age 86, of Taunton, passed away on August 20th, 2025 after a brief period of declining health. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Cabana and Dorothy (Walker) Cabana, both of Easton; his brother, Donald Cabana, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and sister, Betty Cabana, of Easton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Edwards) Cabana of Taunton (formerly of Easton); his loving daughter,

Lisa Morin (Cabana) and her husband William, of Irving, TX; and his most devoted son, Christopher Cabana of Taunton, MA.

Al was born and raised in Easton, MA, where he attended Bristol County Agricultural High School in Dighton. Al always worked more than one job and had many in his life. He was a deli-hand for Fernandes grocery store in Brockton in the 1970's as well as for the International Food Gourmet in Brockton in the 1980's - but one of his fondest was, when he was younger, working for Walter Wall's greenhouse in Bridgewater. Al had a way with both plants and animals. Plants and trees flourished under his care, and animals sensed his inner peace and kindness and were drawn to him. He worked, and retired from, General Motors Corp. in Westwood, MA and was a proud member of the UAW union for over thirty years.

Al and Betty met later in life and spent the better part of thirty years driving around the country in search of new adventures. They spent many New England winters on Pine Island in Florida. He would often say that the winters he and his wife Betty spent in Florida made for some of his happiest memories. Al had a strong roll-up-your-sleeves- and-get-it-done attitude and believed in hard work and the strength of family. He always put the needs of the people around him first and made sure they were provided for and would not rest until it was done. The world is a little dimmer without his light, and he will be greatly missed by many.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Memorial Visitation on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater at 11:00 a.m.

Al filled our lives with love and laughter. He completed my sister's world.
The world, our world, truly is a better place because he entered it. There is just too much gratitude and too few words that could justly describe what he meant (and will always mean) to us. THANK YOU AL! We miss you and always will...

Al was a great person that I met latter in life who became one my best friends. Al and Betty were my neighbors on Pine Island for over twenty years. When they decided not to return to Pine Island they left a void. They were always known as the Hat People because of the different types of hat wear. I have several watercolors framed in both New Jersey and Pine Island.I will miss him.
