Albert "Moody" Cannady also known as Junebug or Big Al was born on
July 24 th 1933 in Wilson, NC to Sylvan and Albert Cannady Sr. Albert
was the 3rd born child of 4 children Harold, Luna, Betty Jean and
Graddick. He attended High School in Wilson, NC and upon graduating
in 1952 enlisted in the United States Air Force. Where he met and
Married the Late Warnel Marie Cannady. He Retired after 20 years of
serving his country. He truly enjoyed serving his country as he would
always have a good story to tell you about his adventures.
After serving his country he began to sell insurance for United. He then
began to work for the Texas Department of Corrections where he was a
Captain overseeing their Food Service Department where he went on to
retire from there. He drove the Via bus for a while and never met a
person he didn't know. Albert was a sharp shooter at pool and he
could tell you about the time he beat Minnesota fats lol He loved
spending time in his juke joints just enjoying life and having a great
time with his friends and family.
Albert leaves behind two daughters Linda Lewis, Carrie Thompson and
son-in-law Alonzo Thompson and 4 step children Rene, Sheila, Robbie
and Frances. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Mack Lewis,
Kenneth Finister, Jolan Smith, Alejnon Lewis and Tyesha Lewis. Great
grandchildren: Bently Lewis, Sidney Finister, Taurkeyshia Pruitt,
Marceysia Sapp, Marquez Lewis and Melanne Lewis and he also had 9
Great Great Grand Children and a host of friends.
