Albert G. Caspers

Caspers, Albert George, 97 of Bay City, Michigan was born in Bay City, Michigan on November 5, 1925, the son of Coord and Mary (Pfeiffer) Caspers. He went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2023 at the age of 97. He married his beloved bride Evelyn Mielens on October 24, 1947 and they spent 72 wonderful years together. She predeceased him on December 7, 2019. Albert was a World War II survivor and earned two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and three Battle Stars. Following his return home, he became a farmer and was also employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Trinity – St. James Lutheran Church in Munger for 97 years. He is survived by his children: Sally (Albert Jr.) Collver, Wayne Caspers, James (Michelle) Caspers, Janet (Hugh) Darnley; nine grandchildren: Reverend Dr. Albert (Terra) Collver III, Nathan (Cynthia Forster) Caspers, Nicole (Vitek) Nedoma, Jenna (Alfredo) Arocha, Jason (Meagan) Collver, Kelvin (Kaitlyn Elgas) Caspers, Matthew Caspers, Erin (Joshua) Grimmer, and Brittany Baikie; eleven great grandchildren: Christopher, Kaitlyn, Rayna, Piper, Peyton, Antonia, Charli, Camila, Khloe, Everly, and Adam; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Albert was welcomed home to Heaven by his wife, Evelyn; son, Gary Caspers; granddaughter, Gina Marie Collver; daughter-in-law, Lori Caspers; and his siblings, John, Carl, Edward, Herman, and Clarence. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 11 A.M. at Trinity – St. James Lutheran Church overseen by the Pastor Reverend Jimmy Riley of Munger. His grandson, Reverend Dr. Albert B. Collver III, will officiate with a luncheon to follow. Interment with be held privately at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home on Monday, August 14 from 2-5 and 7-9 P.M. He will lie in state at the Church on Tuesday, August 15 from 10 A.M. until service time. Per the wishes of the family, memorial tributes may be made to Trinity – St. James Lutheran Church.
