Albert Wayne Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, Albert Wayne, 67 a resident of Cantonment, Florida went home to be with the Lord while in the arms of his daughter on Thursday, June 17, 2021 after a long battle with health issues. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Chapel with Brother Donny Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial directing. Mr. Fitzgerald was a devoted husband of 42 years to his wife Kathy. He was a loving father, Papa, son, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and retired from a long career in IT with the Mobile Press Register, prior to that many years in IT at the Montgomery Advertiser. He had a love of playing the drums, fishing, Alabama football and will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, telling goofy jokes and making everyone laugh. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Fitzgerald, father Lealon Fitzgerald, mother Juanita Fitzgerald, two brothers Bradley Fitzgerald and Ronnie Fitzgerald, sister Patricia Metcalf; and a grandchild, Makenzie Lane Carter. He is survived by his loving daughters, Heather Fitzgerald, Kristy Sangalang (Carlo); one brother, Michael Fitzgerald (Stephanie) and three grandchildren, Madisyn, Mason, and Maiya Sangalang; and numerous extended family members and many friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
