Albert H. Junge, aged 94, passed away on March 12, 2025, in the Town of Hyde Park, New York. Born on October 22, 1930, in Sharon, Connecticut, Albert served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953, embodying the Corps' values of honor and commitment.
Following his military service, Albert embarked on a career as a New York State Corrections Officer at Greenhaven Correctional Facility in Stormville, NY, where he dedicated many years before retiring. Known for his witty and stubborn nature, he was deeply loyal and devoted to his family.
He married Frances Bohlinger on July 14, 1957, at New Hackensack Reformed Church, Wappingers Falls, NY. His beloved wife Frances pre-deceased him on June 9, 1998.
Albert is survived by his his sister, Janet Junge; his children, daughter Roberta (Freddy) DeCarlo, son Jeffrey (Betty) Junge, and daughter Cathy Junge; his grandchildren Nicole (Matt) Singleton, Jonathan D. (Michelle) Maulsby, Amanda (Darren) Junge, and Ashley (Andy) Perez; and his great-grandchildren, Julianna & Jonathan A. Maulsby, Jayden & Kaydence Singleton, Eddie Junge, and Sebastian & Sofia Perez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Heinrich and Alma (Alfken) Junge. He is also survived James, his wonderful caretaker.
Graveside funeral services with military honors were private. Interment was made in the family plot at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc. in Hyde Park, NY. Contributions may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice at www.hvhospice.org honoring Albert's memory.
