Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Windsor Funeral Home from Jan. 25 to Jan. 26, 2026.
Albert Alphonso "Ted" Linton, 67, of Tolland, beloved husband for 32 years, together 46 years, of Andrea (Heath) Linton, passed unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday January 18, 2026.
Ted, also warmly known as "Collie," "Jungle," and "Redman," was born in St. James, Jamaica, son of the late Clifford and Lucille (Williams) Linton, graduated from Maldon High School, and attended Kenilworth Technical & Vocational Training School for carpentry & plumbing.
Ted was a hardworking, dependable man whose life was defined by dedication, integrity, and pride in an honest day's work. Throughout his career, he built a reputation as someone who could always be counted on, showing up early, working hard, and giving his best no matter what the task. He spent many years employed at Bob's Furniture, where he developed strong skills and a deep appreciation for teamwork and perseverance. From there, he continued his career with Lawrence Brunoli, where his work ethic and reliability earned the respect of coworkers and supervisors alike. In his later years, he worked with Imagineers, bringing with him decades of experience, a steady hand, and a commitment to doing things the right way. He also took pride in working for himself and enjoyed running his own business, Ted's Construction.
Ted was a loving husband and devoted father whose greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help others, never hesitating to offer his time, support, or encouragement. He taught his children and grandchildren the importance of kindness, hard work, and showing up for the people you love. His sense of humor could lighten any room, and his warm smile made everyone feel welcome. He had a way of making others feel valued and understood, and his presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he shared, the love he gave, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ted was a faithful and long-term member of Prospect Ave. Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hartford, and he was a dedicated head deacon and usher in his church, where he served with humility, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility. His faith guided his life and shaped the way he cared for others. Recently, he was proudly initiated into the Pathfinders as a Youth Instructor, a commitment that reflected his love for ministry, mentorship, and spiritual growth. He also hosted the Pathfinders camp, aptly named Camp Linton, at his home in Tolland. He found great purpose in serving his church family and living out his beliefs through action. His devotion, leadership, and quiet example of faith left a lasting impact on all who worshiped alongside him.
In his free time, he found great joy in nature and the simple beauty of the world around him. He had a special love for birds and a deep compassion for animals and wildlife, often taking quiet moments to observe and appreciate God's creation. Just as dear to his heart was time spent with his grandchildren, whom he loved being with and happily spoiling. Whether enjoying the outdoors or sharing laughter with his grandchildren, these moments brought him true happiness and peace. The love he showed for nature, for family, and for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He also proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Tolland Fire Company. In recent years, he became well known for his delicious cooking, especially his oxtails and rice, which many said rivaled that of a top chef. Preparing meals for family and friends brought him great joy, and his cooking was another way he showed his love and generosity. Those meals, shared with laughter and togetherness, will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
In addition to the love of his life, Andrea, he leaves to celebrate his life, his children, Aian Noble and his wife Iracelis "Celly" Noble of Windsor, Veneek Lawson and her husband , Easton Lawson, Jr. of Vernon, Leron Linton of Naugatuck, and Andre Linton of Tolland; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Seanna Noble, AJ Noble, and Esmie Noble, Ashley Linton, Mahlia Linton, Savannah Linton and Easton Lawson, III; his siblings, Philbert Linton, Maudlin Young, the late Creeman Linton, Lawrence Linton, Joyce Hines, Edward Linton, the late Hermine Jordine, Ronald Linton, Violet Samuels, Noel Linton, Cecil Linton, Mae Delrose Wedderburn, Janice Baker, and Sheron Harding; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 9-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life, 11 a.m., at Faith SDA Church 500 Woodland Street,
Hartford, CT 06112.
Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Tolland.
